Debbie's Story
Four years ago, after an incredibly courageous and determined battle with ovarian cancer, Debbie Ecker was taken from us far too soon. Debbie was a shining light with a huge heart and her loss has impacted our community immensely. Helping the community was extremely important to Debbie, and although she did this in many ways, her legacy lives deep within this event. Debbie hosted an annual Christmas fundraiser for 13 years in an effort to help relieve burdens on families during the holiday season such as food, electricity, winter clothing or presents under the tree. It was always Debbie’s dream to make her event bigger, reach more people, and raise more funds for those in need!! In year ONE, A committee came together to do their best to honour this wish of Debbie’s. We hope you will join us for an evening of giving back, remembering Debbie and honouring her legacy. She truly was one of a kind!
